Boxing For Females

 

Boxing is rapidly gaining female participants for sport and for recreation!

 

We know it may not be correct to call out females from males but for many years, females have not found a welcoming place in a boxing gym. Whether they are looking for fitness or for the pursuit of a professional boxing career, finding a welcoming boxing gym was difficult.  

 

In the past few years, we have seen a rise in women and teenage girls showing interest in boxing and joining Thrive. For many, it’s not a professional boxing career that calls them, although we have women who are currently training and exploring that possibility, it’s about finding a sport where they can get fit, become stronger and more fearless.

 

For females in particular, boxing can not only be fun, boxing can help to provide:

  • Confidence
  • Strength
  • Courage

 

The old saying “Fight Like A Girl” is no longer a weighty derogatory taunt.  In fact, “Fight Like A Girl” can be a real compliment now!  If you’re thinking boxing for fitness may not be for you or your daughter because it’s a “man” sport, full of physical contact, injury and blood, think again!  Come into the gym, checkout the classes and speak with Coach Julio Peña.
